Our offices eagerly anticipated the live stream of Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall Winter 2011 Fashion Show this afternoon, and lived vicariously in the moment by following her tweets. (@RebeccaMinkoff, if you’re not already in the loop). We’ve been huge fans of hers for a while now, our love affair beginning with the Morning After Bag – which we enjoyed enough to have breakfast with – and have been seeing regularly ever since. So what, we wondered, could she possibly have in store to outdo herself? It seemed the rest of the world was asking the question, too….

The answer was simple. A sleeveless motorcycle vest, which we sincerely hope you love, as you’ll be seeing it OH, JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE:

This envy- inducing flouncy trench (check out the perfect swing movement at the fabric in the back):

And THIS what-was-she-thinking?!?! (we secretly kind of love it) taking it back, somehow ultra flattering leopard catsuit:

Minkoff, you’ve done it again!
In celebration, enter code MINKOFF02 at checkout and receive 10% off any Rebecca Minkoff bag only at Hollywhirl.com. Enjoy!

After deciding that this week’s Red Ticket Pick would be our Limited Edition Louis Vuitton Murakami Coin Purse, we decided to roll with the theme of candy-colored take-alongs and showcase a few of our favorites.
LV Limited Edition Murakami Coin Purse
Just in time for Valentine’s, BEHOLD our 5 favorite better-than-candy sweetheart inspired picks:
1)
 Michael Kors Red Patent Tote
Sometimes a girl needs a bag she can depend on. Consider this your catch-all. Without compromising style, the Michael Kors Patent Tote appears in sweet candy apple red while rocking out with natural leather and stud details. It’s comfortable, it’s functional, and it makes you look great. A perfect match if we ever saw one.
2)
 Rebecca Minkoff Morning After Bag
Hello, city girl. Time to lay off all those Sex and the City reruns and start living the dream. Your ‘Morning After Bag’ is ready when you are. With top double handles, a shoulder strap, custom hardware – and did we mention the fuchsia leather? – it’s the ultimate vision of femininity and strength. Sound familiar? Yeah, it reminded us of you, too.
3)
 Marc Jacobs "Handy Clutch"
A girl never forgets her first Marc Jacobs. And why should you have to? Spare your ‘Totally Turnlock’ one night on the town and slip into something more comfortable. The ‘Handy Clutch’ is there for you in soft pink ruched leather with a magnetic snap closure and unmistakable logo plate. Doesn’t it feel good to have just what you need?
4)
 Gucci Jackie O./Bouvier Hobo
Our love for Gucci’s Jackie O. hobo is as timeless as its namesake herself. So ask yourself, are you ready to carry the same bag as an unmovable style icon? It appears here in pink canvas and beige vachetta leather trim. Perfection.
5)
 Jean Louis Imbert Rosette Bag
Few things are as romantic as Paris, and Jean Louis Imbert gives us a taste of the excitement with this French violette wristlet. We love the ruffles and the circular design with an elasticized wrist strap to keep it comfortably in place wherever the night may lead you.

Pink card stock and paper lace make for pretty valentines but for us, nothing says “love” quite like the red sole of a Louboutin shoe.
From pointed toes and fishnet details, to sexy snakeskin slingbacks, to candy colored lace-up booties, we’re head over heels for this year’s collection of flirty date shoes.
 Sex Sling in Python, $1145
 Devalavi Red Suede, $845
 Lassagi Framboise Patent, $895
 Mireille Red, $696
If your heart says ‘yes’, but your head is saying ‘no’ to the major price tag, have no fear! We’ve got our own killer collection of designer shoes (at a fraction of the price) coming your way. After all, what’s does a girl love more than a bargain?

The world is a-buzz this Monday morning with talk of the Golden Globes – and our office is certainly no exception!
Perhaps the most talked about gowns among us so far have been those in stunning jewel tones – emerald, to be exact.
Out of our four favorites for “best green gown”, two are designs by Versace, which has us paying attention.
Angelina Jolie (left) in Versace; Mila Kunis (right) in Vera Wang
Catherine Zeta Jones (left) in Versace; Elizabeth Moss (right) in Donna Karan
Love the look?
Mila’s Vera Wang gown is strikingly similar to our oh-so-wearable Badgley Mischka dress in hammered satin:

Which emerald look do you think should take the win for “best green gown”?

In today’s steady stream of style spots, we couldn’t help but notice a recurring theme: blue.
From French Vogue to downtown L.A., it was everywhere!

What do you think? Is blue the new black?

This Monday as a snow storm barreled toward the Hollywhirl offices, we couldn’t help but seek our escape in all the wonderful new spring campaigns being released. A favorite image of ours today was this fresh press for Louboutin featuring the timeless Alti Pump at a retro poolside setting.

In love with the concept, we rounded up a few of our own pieces that were reminiscent of the style:

Silk can last a lifetime if properly cared for. Consider these tips when storing, dressing in, and cleaning your favorite silk accessories and garments.

Keep It Pure
Silk is a natural fiber. The purer the silk, the more sensitive it is to light and chemicals.
- Store your silk in a dark, dry place to prevent discoloration and avoid airtight plastic bags, as silk needs to breathe.
- Keep your silk free from damaging chemicals by dressing in it only after using such toiletries as hairspray and perfume and allowing them to dry.
Keep It Clean
Silk remains best preserved when regularly cleaned. Even non-visible build ups, such as perspiration or body oil, can prove damaging over time.
- Follow your silk’s care instructions. Most silk requires dry cleaning, but always read the care instructions and heed the recommendation.
- Clean immediately if soiled. If your silk becomes soiled, you may try blotting the area with diluted vinegar to prevent staining prior to taking the item to your dry cleaner*.
*Method may not be appropriate for all silk items. If in doubt, leave it to a professional.

As Burberry’s cosmetic line, “Burberry Beauty”, approaches its six month anniversary, we find that the soft, natural tone products are perhaps more relevant than ever.

Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey says:
“[The Burberry Girl] is a woman who has this disheveled elegance. She is incredibly elegant, but she is also very easy and comfortable with herself.”

And what could be easier than our favorite, the Lip Gloss Keychain, which features three check-engraved charm cubes? The third charm opens to reveal a grown-up and ultimately wearable nude beige lip gloss, perfect for keeping your pout moisturized through the cool winter months. At $85, it’s a worthy splurge and would make a perfect gift.

As fiancee to Prince William of Wales, Kate Middleton is inspiring designers worldwide with dreams of a white wedding. Gucci recently released this streamlined bridal vision for the future princess:

Gucci creative director Frida Giannini says:
“I admire the balance Kate Middleton strikes between elegant and contemporary with her unmistakable style. For her wedding dress, I had in mind clean lines, soft shapes and classic touches such as the boat neckline and the distinctive train.”

Check out Jimmy Choo’s alternative to a wrist full of bangles: The Saba Bracelet Hobo.

Net-a-porter founder Natalie Massenet says:
“I can’t survive London Fashion Week without my team and my oversized Saba tote by Jimmy Choo. It is chic yet spacious enough to hold everything I need during the day.”

Choo has taken three sturdy boho-chic bracelets in gold metal, leather and enamel, and applied them directly to a to-die-for soft leather hobo. The bracelets slide along the shoulder strap of this roomy bag, made even better by tons of interior pockets and a loop for keys.
